Glen Arbor Arts Center: American Tree Open Call (U.S.)
American Tree examines the role trees played in the formation of the United States 250 years ago, and the role they will play moving forward into this nation’s next 250 years. Submissions of two-dimensional and three-dimensional work made between 2024 and 2026 are welcome. There is a $35 application fee for non-GAAC members; it’s $25 for members.

Fiber Forward: Open Call for Fiber Art (U.S.)
The Gallery at Yellow Studio invites women and non-binary artists to submit fiber-based work that challenges conventional perceptions of the medium. The program seeks innovative approaches that expand fiber art’s possibilities—work that complicates boundaries between decoration and concept, tradition and innovation, or material and meaning. There is a $35 application fee for non-members ($25 for students, free for Yellow Studio members). Fee waivers are available.

Get Published in Artistonish: Visibility, Engagement, and Sales (International)
The 69th issue of Artistonish Contemporary Art Magazine, published in April 2026, will feature a juried selection of contemporary artworks from around the world, showcased online and on premium glossy pages in print. Each selected work is featured with a full-page image and a dedicated QR code for deeper engagement. Artists will be shared on Artsy, receive a certificate of achievement and exclusive artwork badges, and be promoted through extensive outreach with lasting online visibility in the global art community.

Fleurieu Biennale Art Prize (Australia)
The Fleurieu Biennale Art Prize will be held at the Fleurieu Arthouse in the heart of McLaren Vale, South Australia, from June 5 to July 5, 2026. A Curator’s Choice exhibition and prize will be held at the Stump Hill Gallery at the McLaren Vale & Fleurieu Coast Visitor Centre in McLaren Vale at the same time. Artists are invited to submit artworks exploring the theme “A Sense of Place.” Four prizes total a pool of nearly AUD$30,000.

First Street Gallery 2026 National Juried Exhibition (U.S.)
First Street Gallery invites submissions of two-dimensional works for its summer group show. The gallery’s 2026 National Juried Exhibition will be held June 25 to July 18, 2026, in the gallery’s New York City Chelsea Art District location. There is a $40 application fee.

The MACRO Project Billboard Exhibition (State of New York)
The MACRO Project invites artists from around New York to submit original artworks for display on billboards on well-trafficked roads in the Finger Lakes region. Four to six artists will be selected to have their work displayed for one month in August or September 2026.

Contemporary Craft Textures of Being Open Call (International)
Textures of Being brings together artists who honor the body as a site of knowledge and creative force grounded in lived experience. This exhibition reimagines disability as a form of freedom and an intimate sensory lens through which the world is perceived and shaped.

CIFRA Award (International)
CIFRA welcomes any form of digital art, and the only condition is that it must be possible to submit as a video. Per the theme “RestArt Reality,” applicants can submit screen-native works that engage with pseudo-evidence, invented archives, alternative chronologies, reconstructions, and “false” testimonies, and more. Five winners each receive €1,000.
Deadline: May 8, 2026.

BEERS London Group Exhibitions (International)
This is an opportunity for artists working across all media to apply to be a part of a group exhibition at BEERS London. The gallery’s objective is to discover new, compelling, and contemporary work to present at its gallery. There is a £10 application fee.

21st Edition of Arte Laguna Prize (International)
Applying for this unique opportunity to exhibit your work at the Arsenale Nord in Venice. The finalists’ exhibition will take place from November 6 to 29, 2026. The jury will select 120 finalist artists, including the winner of the first prize of €10,000, among other awards. The application fee is €97.60 (VAT included) for artists under 35 years old and €122 for those 35 and older.

Artadia Awards (New York City)
The Artadia Awards provide financial support, exposure, and recognition to artists. The awards are unrestricted, allowing artists to use the funds in any way they choose. A group of finalists facilitates studio visits with the jurors, and a second-round jury then designates three awardees to receive unrestricted funds of $15,000.

2027 Creative Capital Open Call (U.S.)
Creative Capital seeks proposals from individual artists in all 50 states for new artistic works in the visual arts, performing arts, film, and literature. The Creative Capital Award provides unrestricted project grants of up to $50,000 to individual artists to create new work. The new State of the Art Prize provides unrestricted artist grants of $10,000.

Anonymous Was a Woman Environmental Art Grants (U.S.)
This program provides grants of up to $20,000 to environmental art projects led by women, transgender, and gender-nonconforming artists in the United States and U.S. Territories.

Woodman Family Foundation Housing Stability Grants (New York City)
The Woodman Family Foundation Housing Stability Grant for Artists provides grants of $30,000, distributed over three years, to NYC-based visual artists in need who are seeking support for stable housing. In its second cycle, the foundation will award grants to five artists.

Textile Society of America Research Travel Grants (U.S.)
The TSA Textile Research Travel Grant supports TSA members traveling to conduct textile-focused research. This may include visiting museum collections, engaging with artists or weavers in their local environments, studying special exhibitions, or other research opportunities centered on the study of actual textiles. Applicants may request $500 to $1,000, depending on the scope of travel.

CCA Islands Travel Scholarships to Japan (International)
The CCA Travel Scholarship is for emerging artists, curators, architects, designers, and those who aim to be a professional in various areas of contemporary art and culture, pursuing their research and creative activities in Japan. The scholarship offers research expenses of JPY 200’000 (about $1,250) and covers one return transportation fare to and from Japan. Preference is given to applicants under 35 years old.

3pts Artists & Makers Impact Fund (U.S.)
3pts awards $3,500 to U.S.-based artists and makers who create tangible objects or goods and are working to sustain and grow a business. Pentimenti Emerging Filmmakers Grant(U.S.)
The Pentimenti Grant for Emerging Filmmakers endeavors to support work by up-and-coming women, non-binary, and/or LGBTQ+ filmmakers. In keeping with Pentimenti’s mission, the project must pertain to art or artists in some way, although it doesn’t necessarily need to be a documentary. The recipient will receive $2,000, consultations with Pentimenti staff, and a spotlight feature on Pentimenti’s communication channels.

The Adolf and Esther Gottlieb Emergency Grant (International)
This program provides one-time financial assistance to qualified painters, printmakers, and sculptors whose needs resulted from an unforeseen catastrophic incident and who lack the resources to meet that situation. Awardees typically receive $5,000 and up to $15,000.

Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant (International)
The foundation welcomes applications from painters, sculptors, and artists working on paper, including printmakers. Grants are intended for one year and range up to $50,000. The artist’s circumstances determine the size of the grant, and professional exhibition history will be considered.

Residencies, Fellowships, & More

Peninsula School of Art Time & Space Residencies (International)
Designed for artists of all career stages, this residency program at Peninsula School of Art in Fish Creek, Wisconsin, is an immersive studio experience awarded to six individuals per year. The program prioritizes time and space for its residents to engage fully in their creative practice for six weeks, creating uninterrupted opportunities to experiment and pursue new projects and ideas. Residencies are free of charge. There is a $10 application fee.

BRIClab Contemporary Art Residency (New York City)
BRIClab invites applications for its contemporary art residency. Participating artists receive a stipend of $2,500 in addition to access to BRIC’s studios, media equipment, and materials, cohort gatherings, and more.

Northern Clay Center Early Career Residencies (International)
This residency program encompasses two fellowships—The Anonymous Artist Studio Fellowship and the BIPOC Studio Fellowship—designed to provide up to three ceramic artists with the opportunity to be in residence at Northern Clay Center for one year, where they can develop their work and exchange ideas and knowledge with other ceramic artists.

Delfina Foundation Open Call (India)
In partnership with The Charles Wallace India Trust and The Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation, Delfina Foundation welcomes applications from contemporary visual artists from India for a residency in London. This residency will take place from January 5 to March 28 during Delfina Foundation’s 2027 winter residency season.

Delfina Foundation Open Call (Latin America, the Caribbean, and related diasporic communities in the U.S.)
In partnership with El Espacio 23 / Jorge M. Pérez Collection, Delfina Foundation is pleased to announce an open call for Latin American and Caribbean artists based in those regions or from related diasporic communities living in the U.S. Two artists will be selected for fully funded 12-week residencies.

Queer and Trans Research Lab Artist-in-Residence (International)
The Queer and Trans Research Lab (QTRL) at the University of Toronto invites qualified applicants to apply to be an artist-in-residence for the 2026-27 school year. QTRL provides financial and other material support for artists working in any medium whose work centers on LGBTQ2S+ lives, communities, histories, and cultures. The residency will culminate in a funded exhibition, reading, screening, or performance of the resident’s work-in-progress.

Walker Youngbird Foundation’s Native Neon (U.S.)
Native Neon is a brand new residency offering hands-on instruction, collaborative fabrication, and full production support for Indigenous artists to explore neon for the first time. Residents receive a $10,000 stipend, lodging, round-trip travel, training, and more.

Delfina Foundation Open Call with St Paul’s Cathedral for Artists from Latin America and the Caribbean (International)
With support from St. Paul’s Cathedral and The Irma Pastrana Borrero Foundation for Humanity’s Peace and Development, Delfina Foundation welcomes applications from contemporary visual artists based in Latin America and the Caribbean for a residency in London. The selected artist will also be “in residence” at St. Paul’s Cathedral and will use the residency to explore the relationship between space and spirituality.

Lycée Français de Chicago Artist-in-Residence Program(International)
Every other year, the LFC’s Artist-in-Residence program welcomes a creator who wishes to develop an artistic project in a school setting. For the 2026-27 resident, LFC encourages applications from artists working in ceramics and/or textiles. The residency runs from four to 12 weeks, and the artist will receive a total stipend of $15,000 from the LFC to cover all expenses.

Dome House Al & Mickey Quinlan Artist Residency Program (Midwest)
The residency, organized by The Miller Art Museum, invites artists to Wisconsin’s Door Peninsula for eight weeks at the Dome House, a unique concrete structure built into sand dunes abutting Whitefish Dunes State Park on the shores of Lake Michigan. Artists from Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin are welcome to apply.

BRIClab Video Art Residency (New York City)
BRIClab invites applications for its video art residency. Participating artists receive a stipend of $2,500 in addition to 80 hours of BRIC’s community media studios and editing suites, plus one-on-one production support and consultations with an advisor and/or BRIC curatorial staff.

La Napoule Art Foundation Fall Residency (International)
La Napoule Art Foundation offers an opportunity for artists to engage in meaningful work and cultural interchange at the Château de La Napoule, located just outside Cannes, France. Fall residency dates are October 3 to November 6, 2026, and artists working in any discipline—visual artists, musicians, dancers, writers, etc.—are welcome to apply. Selected artists receive a travel and material stipend, room and board, studio space, and time and space to create in an awe-inspiring locale.

The Martin House Creative Residency Program (U.S.)
This competitive program is open to applicants who seek the resources to support ongoing projects or the creation of new work, with special emphasis on the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Martin House. Creative makers who are selected to participate will generally spend two to four weeks on site. Residents will receive a stipend of $5,000, and travel expenses of up to $1,000 will also be provided to residents from outside New York’s Buffalo-Niagara region.

BEERS London 40-Day Residency (International)
The residency supports artists for a dedicated period of creative development in London, along with professional support and creative outreach. For 40 days, selected artists will receive studio space, an honorarium for living and materials, guidance from the BEERS team, and the freedom to shape their own working schedule. Applications remain active for 12 months, after which point artists can reapply. Current residency periods fall within May to July 2026 and January to March 2027. There is a £20 application fee.

Art for State Buildings (South Dakota)
South Dakota Arts Council is seeking submissions for the Art for State Buildings program, for which selected artwork is purchased for display in publicly accessible areas in state government buildings in and near the State Capitol Building in Pierre.

ART 64 Live Painting Tournament (U.S.)
ART 64 partners with the Village of Wauwatosa for a bracket-style painting tournament during which 64 artists paint live. Each round will be the theme/subject of each artist’s choice. Each artist is given a set period of time to paint a work, and spectators vote for their favorites. All participants are incentivized throughout the competition, and the grand prize is $20,000. In addition, all paintings will be for sale. There is a $20 application fee.

Audubon Photography Awards (United States, Canada, Chile, and Colombia)
These prestigious photography awards showcase stunning photos and videos that celebrate the beauty and joy of birds and highlight how they connect people across geographies and ecosystems. Judges will award nine prizes to Chile and Colombia residents and eight prizes to U.S. and Canada residents. This year, in addition to $5,000, the Grand Prize winners will each receive a voyage to Antarctica combining birding, conservation, and exploration.

Open Call for Apollo Painting School 2026 (U.K.)
Apollo Painting School is a nonprofit founded in 2023, operating between Manchester, U.K., and Latina, Italy, to create an alternative and unique learning opportunity for emerging painters. Programs consist of three-month summer sessions for U.K.-based emerging artists. The cost is £3,000 per student, including production materials during a residency in Italy, all travel to Manchester, all lectures and site visits, return flights to Italy, and accommodation and studios in Italy.

RISE by Henley Festival Emerging Artist Prize (U.K.)
The RISE by Henley Festival Emerging Artist Prize was created to acknowledge emerging talent in the visual arts, especially those in the early stages of their professional careers or who have not yet established a reputation as an artist amongst curators, buyers, and critics. First prize is £1,000, and two runners-up will be awarded £500. The winners will also be given an exhibition space at RISE Gallery at Henley Festival 2026.

Wicker Park Fine Art Fair (Midwest)
The second annual WPFAF will be held Saturday, September 12, in Chicago’s Wicker Park. The event will include a curated group of fine artists displaying and selling their work,  artwork installed in the gardens, performances of classical music, hands-on family art workshops, and tours of the gardens. There is a $20 application fee, and if selected, the booth fee is $150.

Spector Craft Prize for Emerging Artists (U.S.)
The Spector Craft Prize for Emerging Artists annually honors five early-career artists with seven years or less of studio practice. Each recipient is recognized through a $10,000 financial award, mentorship opportunities, participation in the Spector Craft Conference (to be held at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in November 2026), and professional network development. Disciplines include ceramics, textiles, woodworking, glass, metalwork, basketry, and paper arts.

Artadia Awards (Chicago)
The Artadia Awards provide financial support, exposure, and recognition to artists. The awards are unrestricted, allowing artists to use the funds in any way they choose. Inspiration Grants (Kansas City vicinity)
These $3,500 project grants provided by ArtsKC are for individual artists or small groups of artists to support ambitious projects and/or work that makes a positive impact on the community. DAG Prize (U.S.)
The DAG Foundation invites applications for its three prizes for literature, music, and visual art. The award amount is $20,000, presented to an artist or creative who demonstrates innovation in their field.

LIFT Early Career Support for Native Artists (U.S.)
The  Native Arts and Cultures Foundation’s (NACF) LIFT program supports emerging Native artists through one-year awards to develop and realize new projects. LIFT provides a comprehensive suite of services, including $15,000, professional development, mentorship, project evaluation, documentation, and communications/marketing support. Applicants must be enrolled members or citizens of a U.S. federally recognized or state-recognized American Indian tribe, Alaska Native corporation, or of Native Hawaiian ancestry.

The Vermont Prize (Vermont)
The Vermont Prize accepts submissions from artists working in any medium. The winner receives $5,000, and their work is showcased and archived on vermontprize.org and on social media.

Kala Art Institute Residencies (International)
Kala, located in Berkeley, California, offers subsidized residencies through the Artist-in-Residence (AIR) Program and fully funded residencies through several fellowships and awards, including the Veterans Artist Residency and the Jen Cole Artist Residency Award. Prairie Ronde is hosted by The Mill at Vicksburg, a redevelopment project of the former Lee Paper Company mill, in the historic village of Vicksburg, Michigan. Artists from a range of disciplines are provided with a five- to six-week residency to engage with The Mill and its surrounding 80 acres. Three residency sessions are offered per year during the spring, summer, and fall, and the summer residency runs from June 1 to September 14. Artists receive a $2,000 stipend upon completion of the residency, a $500 travel grant, private housing, and a gallery show. There is a $25 application fee.

Great Smoky Mountains National Park Artist Residency(International)
GSMNP’s artist residency program provides opportunities to develop creative work and inspire the public. During their stay, residents are given time to explore and experience the Smokies. They work independently and in collaboration with ranger staff to facilitate experiences that promote visitor understanding about the need to care for and preserve this national treasure. Artists in residence are also volunteers in the park; residencies last for four weeks and take place June through November.

NXTHVN Fellowship (International)
Each year, NXTHVN welcomes up to seven artists and two curators to participate in its paid 10-month intensive Fellowship Program. Each fellow receives studio or office space, a stipend, and subsidized housing. Fellows relocate to New Haven to participate in NXTHVN’s mentorship-driven curriculum, which includes professional development sessions led by visiting artists, curators, scholars, and practitioners.

Minnesota Center for Book Arts McKnight Fellowships for Book Artists (Minnesota)
Minnesota Center for Book Arts has partnered with the McKnight Foundation to offer two fellowships to beyond-emerging artists living and working in Minnesota who show sustained experience in the book arts. The recipient receives an unrestricted $25,000 award, $1,000 travel stipend to attend a conference, $1,000 educational stipend, two years of MCBA studio access, and more.

Textile Arts Center Artist-in-Residence Program (International)

Interlude Artist Residency (New York City)

Roswell Artist-in-Residence Program (International)
This program provides studio-based visual artists the opportunity to concentrate on their work in a supportive, collegial environment for an entire year. RAiR offers six artists a place to live and work for a year, with a monthly stipend and no strings attached. Residents can mount a solo exhibition of their work at the Roswell Museum and have an artwork purchased for the permanent collection of the Anderson Museum of Contemporary Art. The focus is to connect fellows to local and national art professionals and support additional professional development activities.

WORTHLESSSTUDIOS’ Artist Residency Program (WARP) (New York City)
WARP provides state-of-the-art fabrication resources, space, generous funding, and industry-leading project management support to artists as they create ambitious, large-scale sculpture. The residency runs five to seven weeks and includes a $5,000 artist stipend, a private studio, and a $45,000 fabrication budget.

Women@MIT Fellowship (International)
This fellowship from MIT Libraries’ Department of Distinctive Collections (DDC) provides funding for artists, activists, musicians, writers, and scholars who are engaged in the expansion and expression of knowledge, especially as applied to informing the understanding of women in MIT’s history and the history of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The program is particularly well-suited to those interested in applying tenets of women’s studies, gender studies, and/or race and ethnic studies to their work. Each Women@MIT Fellowship project will receive a $5,000 stipend.

From May 14 to 17, 2026, The Other Art Fair returns to Brooklyn and seeks applications for general booths and the New Futures program, which awards a free booth space to an early-career artist.

Quilt Visions 2026 (International)
Visions Museum of Textile Art in San Diego invites entries for Quilt Visions 2026, the museum’s 27th international juried exhibition. Exhibition jurors will select work exemplifying art quilting at the highest level of quality, innovation, surface design techniques, excellence in composition, and craftsmanship. Entry is $40 for museum members and $50 for non-members.

Jackson’s Art Prize (International)
Artists working in two-dimensional media are invited to apply for Jackson’s Art Prize, with 31 total awards. First Prize is £6,000, plus £2,000 in art supplies. There is a £6.50 submission fee per artwork entry; students get one entry free.

Boise Airport Wall Surface 3D Public Art (International)
The City of Boise’s Department of Arts & History and Boise Airport invite artists and artist teams to submit qualifications for the opportunity to design a new three-dimensional work to be installed in the Boise Airport. The selected artist(s) will be awarded $50,000 to design, fabricate, and install a surface-based work of art on a flat, vertical wall.

McNeese National Works on Paper Exhibition (U.S.)
The 39th Annual McNeese National Works on Paper Exhibition will be juried by Nicole Donnelly, Executive Director of The Morgan Art of Papermaking Conservatory. $3,000 will be available for the purchase of works for the McNeese State University Works on Paper Permanent Collection. Hasselblad is looking for great images and unique visions for the Hasselblad Masters 2026 competition. Photographers can submit images made with any camera from any brand, digital or film, and any frame size. The winner receives a Hasselblad X2D II 100C camera, two XCD Series lenses, and a creative fund of €5,000. Selected photographers will have the opportunity to be published in the Hasselblad Masters book.

Art for State Buildings (South Dakota)
South Dakota Arts Council is seeking submissions for the Art for State Buildings program, for which selected artwork is purchased for display in publicly accessible areas in state government buildings in and near the State Capitol Building in Pierre.

Audubon Photography Awards (United States, Canada, Chile, and Colombia)
These prestigious photography awards showcase stunning photos and videos that celebrate the beauty and joy of birds and highlight how they connect people across geographies and ecosystems. Judges will award nine prizes to Chile and Colombia residents and eight prizes to U.S. and Canada residents. This year, in addition to $5,000, the Grand Prize winners will each receive a voyage to Antarctica in a trip combining birding, conservation, and exploration.

RISE by Henley Festival Emerging Artist Prize (U.K.)
The RISE by Henley Festival Emerging Artist Prize was created to acknowledge emerging talent in the visual arts, especially artists who are in the early stages of their professional career or who have not yet established a reputation as an artist amongst art curators, buyers, and critics. First prize is £1,000, and two runners-up will be awarded £500. The winners will also be given an exhibition space at RISE Gallery at Henley Festival 2026.

International Support Grants (Norway)
Office for Contemporary Art Norway provides support for international activity and participation in projects and exhibitions abroad for artists and art professionals from Norway. Funding can be allocated toward travel support, such as to participate in seminars, or for production support abroad.

The Ian Rosenfeld Fund (International)
Gallery Rosenfeld invites applications for the Ian Rosenfeld Fund, a £7,500 annual award supporting an early- to mid-career artist, offered in the spirit of patronage to provide not only financial support but an ongoing relationship, guidance, and mentorship.

Villa Albertine Creative Grants and Curatorial Fellowships (U.S. and France)
Villa Albertine’s Creative Grants provide financial support to American and French nonprofit institutions wishing to organize exhibitions featuring living French or France-based artists and American artists, respectively. The Curatorial Fellowships offer funding to American curators wishing to conduct research on the French visual arts scene. In partnership with ICI | Independent Curators International, the program offers grants of $3,000 each to U.S.-based curators.

Dallas Museum of Art Awards for Artists (Texas & surrounding region)
Dallas Museum of Art offers three separate grants. The Clare Hart DeGolyer Memorial Fund awards up to $1,500 for artists between the ages of 15 and 25 who reside in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona, and Colorado. The Otis and Velma Davis Dozier Travel Grant, up to $6,000, is awarded to professional artists over the age of 30 who reside in Texas. And the Arch and Ann Giles Kimbrough Fund awards up to $3,500 to artists under the age of 30 who reside in Texas.

BOAPS – Spring 2026: Grants, Exhibition, Publication, Promotion, Sales, Career Boost (International)
Biafarin proudly presents BOAPS – Spring 2026, a seasonal international open art opportunity offering a total of $10,000 CAD in annual cash grants, along with curated solo and group exhibitions, vibrant publications, global promotion, and sales exposure through Biafarin and Artsy. This subject-free open call welcomes artists at all career stages to submit their strongest work with full creative freedom.

We Are Here Scotland Creators’ Fund+ (Scotland)

Inspiration Grants (Kansas City vicinity)
These $3,500 project grants provided by ArtsKC are for individual artists or small groups of artists to support ambitious projects and/or work that makes a positive impact on the community. Visual, dance, music, theater, literature and poetry, fashion, film, and interdisciplinary art applications are welcome.

The Adolf and Esther Gottlieb Emergency Grant (International)
This program provides one-time financial assistance to qualified painters, printmakers, and sculptors whose needs resulted from an unforeseen catastrophic incident and who lack the resources to meet that situation. Awardees typically receive $5,000 and up to $15,000.

Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant (International)
The foundation welcomes applications from painters, sculptors, and artists working on paper, including printmakers. Grants are intended for one year and range up to $50,000. The artist’s circumstances determine the size of the grant, and professional exhibition history will be considered.

Houston Center for Contemporary Craft Residency (International)
Artists are awarded three-to-twelve-month residencies with 24/7 access to studio space, cultural and professional development opportunities, a $1,000 monthly stipend that includes a small housing/materials allowance, and the opportunity to give an artist talk.

Luminarts Fellowships (Chicago)
The Luminarts Fellowship Program includes awards in visual arts, creative writing, classical music, and jazz improvisation. Fellowships include an unrestricted monetary award of $10,000 to $15,000, depending on the discipline.

Sloss Metal Furnaces Emerging Artist Residency + Internship (International)
Sloss Furnaces Foundation in Birmingham, Alabama, hosts a three-week residency designed for emerging artists interested in developing their studio practice and gaining technical, hands-on foundry skills. Artists will be provided with a living stipend, materials budget, sand and iron, and studio access.

MacDowell Fellowship for Fall/Winter 2026 (International)
MacDowell encourages applications from artists of all backgrounds in the following disciplines: architecture, film/video, interdisciplinary arts, literature, music composition, theatre, and visual arts. About 300 are awarded fellowships each year, and the sole criterion for acceptance is artistic excellence. There are no residency fees, and need-based stipends and travel reimbursement grants are available to open the residency to the broadest possible community of artists. There is a $30 application fee.

SPACES  Echo Artists-in-Residence Program  (Northeast Ohio)
The Echo Artists in Residence Program invites two artists each quarter to experiment and create on-site projects for SPACES’ galleries and the greater Cleveland community. Artists receive an honorarium and a production budget, and residencies typically last four to six weeks, resulting in an approximately six-week-long exhibition.

Forge Project Fellowship (U.S. and Canada)
Forge Project is pleased to announce its open call for applications for its 2026 funded fellowship program for Indigenous artists, scholars, organizers, cultural workers, researchers, and educators. Applicants must be an enrolled member, citizen, or descendant of a state- or federally recognized American Indian tribe or Alaska Native corporation, or of Native Hawaiian, Canadian First Nation, Métis, or Inuit ancestry. Each Forge Project Fellow will receive $25,000 toward their practice and have full access to the Forge Project site and libraries in Taghkanic, New York.

Long Meadow Art Residency (International)

Watermill Center 2026 International Summer Program (International)

Rabbit Island Residency (International)
Rabbit Island is 91 acres of forest and sandstone located in Lake Superior, four miles east of Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula. Artists live and work on the island for two to four weeks during one of three residency periods, engaging directly with the landscape, responding to notions of conservation, ecology, and sustainability.

Van Lier Fellowship 2026-27 (New York City)

Up to four artists are selected, with one residency always dedicated to an artist currently living in Kentucky or Clark and Floyd counties in Southern Indiana, and one residency always dedicated to an artist whose work addresses environmental issues and the climate crisis.

Prairie Ronde Spring 2026 Residencies (International)
Prairie Ronde is hosted by The Mill at Vicksburg, a redevelopment project of the former Lee Paper Company mill, in the historic village of Vicksburg, Michigan. Artists from a range of disciplines are provided with a five- to six-week residency to engage with The Mill and its surrounding 80-acre property. The spring residency period runs from March 15 to May 31. Artists receive a $2,000 stipend upon completion of the residency, a $500 travel grant, private housing, and a gallery show. Jan van Eyck Academie 2027 Residency (International)
The Jan van Eyck is open to a wide array of disciplines and approaches, ranging from material-based to research-driven practices, addressing both urgent global issues and more personal inquiries. Olbrich Botanical Gardens invites proposals for temporary, light-based installations for GLEAM, Art in a New Light, a public art exhibition situated within a 16-acre Midwest landscape or a 10,000-square-foot tropical conservatory. The Adolf and Esther Gottlieb Emergency Grant (International)

Playground Detroit Emerging Artist Fellowship (Detroit)
The 2025 Emerging Artist Fellowship provides financial support and professional mentorship for artists to develop their individual practices. The fellowship prioritizes applications from BIPOC and LGBTQ+ artists and exhibition proposals exploring concepts addressing current issues and contemporary social justice topics.

Between Bridges Residency (International)
Between Bridges’ next residency for visual artists will take place from July to December 2026 and includes a working phase as well as a one-month exhibition or public presentation. The residency is open to professional individual artists, artist duos, or small groups working collaboratively. The residency provides access to the organization’s facilities in Berlin Schöneberg and offers a monthly stipend of €1,500 (regardless of the number of participants) and the opportunity for studio visits. An additional budget of €5,000 is allocated specifically for the exhibition or presentation.

ACRE Summer 2026 Residencies (International)
Artists’ Cooperative Residency & Exhibitions (ACRE) is an artist-run, community-driven organization that produces programs and initiatives offering ongoing resource-sharing and opportunities for professional growth. ACRE’s residency takes place every summer in rural Southwest Wisconsin, and facilities provide a range of workspaces for ceramics, textiles, sound, and more. The subsidized fee is $700 per person for a 14-day residency. There is a $45 application fee until November 9, then a $60 fee until November 18.

Bernheim Forest Artist-in-Residence Program (International)
Established in 1980, this internationally renowned program annually awards visual artists of all media the opportunity to live and create site-specific work inspired by their total immersion experience in the natural environment. Up to four artists are selected, with one residency always dedicated to an artist currently living in Kentucky or Clark and Floyd counties in Southern Indiana, and one residency always dedicated to an artist whose work addresses environmental issues and the climate crisis.

Prairie Ronde Spring 2026 Residencies (International)
Prairie Ronde is hosted by The Mill at Vicksburg, a redevelopment project of the former Lee Paper Company mill, in the historic village of Vicksburg, Michigan. Artists from a range of disciplines are provided with a five- to six-week residency to engage with The Mill and its surrounding 80-acre property. The spring residency period runs from March 15 to May 31. Artists receive a $2,000 stipend upon completion of the residency, a $500 travel grant, private housing, and a gallery show. There is a $25 application fee.

Jan van Eyck Academie 2027 Residency (International)
The Jan van Eyck is open to a wide array of disciplines and approaches, ranging from material-based to research-driven practices, addressing both urgent global issues and more personal inquiries. The residency runs for 11 months, from January 15 to December 15, 2026. Housing is included, and participants receive a monthly stipend from which accommodation rental is deducted. There is a €78.65 application fee (including VAT), and waivers may be available depending on location.

The Supporting Act Foundation, by WeTransfer, has designed the Artist Grant to help emerging artists from underrepresented groups whose practices involve some form of collaborative, collective, or creative process that benefits their community. Dutch Talent Project Grants (The Netherlands)
Rotterdam Photo, in collaboration with Amarte Fonds, presents the Dutch Talent Project Grants 2026. Morgan Conservatory Art of Papermaking 2026 Residencies (International)
The Morgan’s Artist in Residence (AiR) Program is funded by the Windgate Foundation to offer emerging and established artists from around the world who work with papermaking, book arts, and printing the opportunity to explore focused projects. Artists accepted into the program will receive a stipend, 24-hour access to Morgan facilities, and more.

2026 Art Omi Residencies (International)
Through a competitive jury process, residents are invited to attend Art Omi’s residencies at no cost to themselves, except travel expenses. Art Omi offers residents the time and space to hone their own craft in the Hudson Valley while cultivating a vibrant community of artists from around the globe. Residencies are open to practitioners of architecture, visual art, writing, and music, and a number of fellowships are available.

Quinn Emanuel Artists-in-Residence Program (Greater Los Angeles)
This residency is open to emerging and mid-career artists working in all disciplines. For four months, the artist-in-residence will be given a studio in the Quinn Emanuel Los Angeles office to support their existing practice or a new project as appropriate. At the end of the residency, an exhibition will be held, and at least one work will be incorporated into the permanent collection. A supporting stipend will be provided, as well as a materials allowance.

bEam Arts Residency Winter/Spring 2026 (International)
Located in Thessaloniki, Greece, bEam Arts hosts an international residency program to support artists’ vibrant studio practices. The Center for Art and Advocacy Fellowship 2026 (U.S.)
Formerly known as Right to Return, the Center for Art and Advocacy believes there is an abundance of uncultivated talent and exceptional creativity among individuals who share the lived experience of incarceration. The Center’s fellowship offers an annual award of $10,000 in unrestricted funds and $10,000 in project development funds to formerly incarcerated artists. Work by all shortlisted artists will also be exhibited at Unit 1 Gallery | Workshop in London for the Ingram Prize exhibition.

Denver International Airport Rotating Sculpture Program (International)
Through a competitive selection process, artists will loan DEN an existing large-scale sculpture or installation to be temporarily displayed. MONSTER Exhibition Open Call (Germany)
MONSTER Exhibition is an international art project that began in 2013, originally inspired by the overwhelming impact of the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake and tsunami. At its core lies the symbolic theme of the Kaiju—a creature that, in Japanese culture, represents both divine nature and destructive power. The 13th edition will take place in Spring 2026 at the historic Kunstquartier Bethanien in Berlin. The entry fee is €25 (€15 for students).

The mission of Bloedel Reserve’s Residency Program is to foster creative thinking inspired by nature and to explore the connection between humans and the environment. Residents are housed in a small home off the main paths, hidden in the woods on Bainbridge Island, Washington. Artists from the U.S. receive a $1,000 stipend, and international residents may submit up to $1,000 of expenses for reimbursement. There is a $20 fee to apply.

Tiger Strikes Asteroid x Transmitter Residency (International)
The TNT Residency includes a six-month, fully funded, 430-square-foot studio adjacent to both galleries at 1329 Willoughby Avenue, culminating in a solo exhibition or open studio event within the studio space. This open call is for the residency running from January 10 to June 21, 2026. The exhibition will include a $250 honorarium and professional installation shots. Residents from outside the NYC area will need to secure separate housing. There is a $35 application fee.

Sainsbury Scholarship for the British School at Rome (U.K. and Commonwealth)
The British School at Rome, in partnership with the Linbury Trust, offers the Sainsbury Scholarship to support a six-month residency in Rome, running from January 7 to June 30, 2026. Monson Arts Winter Residencies (International)

Wave Hill Call for 2026 Sunroom Project Space Proposals (New York City)
The Sunroom Project Space offers artists in the early stages of their careers who reside within a 50-mile radius of the Bronx a chance to create and showcase a site-specific, solo project in Wave Hill’s Sunroom or Sun Porch of Glyndor Gallery. Artists will receive a $2,000 honorarium, exhibition and professional development support, and will have six to twelve months to research and develop ideas.

Open Call for Sculpture by the Sea, Cottesloe 2026 (International)
Staged since 2005, the Cottesloe coastal exhibition features more than 70 sculptures and is enjoyed by 220,000 visitors, making the show a feature of Perth’s cultural calendar. All types, forms, sizes, and materials are eligible for entry, and submissions are open to established and emerging artists. Awards include the Mostyn Family Foundation Artist Subsidy of $5,000, the Pommery Champagne Artist Award of $5,000, and the Kids’ Choice Prize of $2,000.

Hunt Museum Open Submission Exhibition 2025 (Ireland)
This exhibition offers a unique platform for both emerging and established artists to showcase their work in one of Ireland’s most respected cultural institutions. The Ellis-Beauregard Foundation is offering five $10,000 project grants for Maine artists working in all genres.

Seattle Art Museum Betty Bowen Award (Washington, Oregon, and Idaho)
The annual Betty Bowen Award is administered by the Seattle Art Museum and honors a Northwest artist for their original, exceptional, and compelling work. The top award is an unrestricted cash prize of $20,000 and a solo exhibition at the Seattle Art Museum. Additionally, up to two Special Recognition Awards ($4,000 each) and three Special Commendation Awards ($2,500 each) are often granted at the discretion of the Betty Bowen Committee. There is a $10 application fee.

Hornsby Art Prize (Australia)
The non-acquisitive Hornsby Art Prize celebrates Australian contemporary art and is open to all Australian residents aged 18 years and over. Categories include painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, and sculpture. There is an overall prize pool valued at AUD$23,000, with first and second prizes of $10,000 and $5,000, respectively. The fee is $40 per entry.

QEST Emerging Maker Grants (U.K.)
QEST offers three grants to support makers and conservators at various career stages, strengthening the pipeline of talented craft professionals in the U.K. The organization supports contemporary and traditional craft, as well as the exploration of innovative techniques. The three tracks include Emerging Maker Grants, the QEST Scholarship, and the QEST Apprenticeship. Grants range from £3,000 to £12,000 depending on the program.

Liu Shiming Art Foundation’s Artist Grants (International)
Each year, the Liu Shiming Art Foundation selects up to five artists to receive a $5,000 grant. Visual artists working for at least two years (but not more than 10) are invited to apply for support for a current or new project.

BigCi Environmental Awards 2025 (International)
Artists from all fields are invited to submit entries for the BigCi Environmental Awards 2025. Two winners will each receive four free weeks at the BigCi residency and AUD$5,000 prize money. Zion National Park Artist-in-Residence (International)
The Artist-in-Residence Program at Zion National Park offers professional artists of various media the opportunity to pursue their artistic discipline while being surrounded by the park’s inspiring landscape. Three artists will be selected for three-month residencies in 2026. Each artist receives free housing and a $500 travel reimbursement. There is a $20 application fee.

Bemis Center Autumn Residencies (International)
Selected artists-in-residence enjoy generously sized, private live/work studios in Omaha, a $1,250 monthly stipend, and a $750 travel stipend. Due to the limitations of B2 visas (touring/visiting), international artists-in-residence are ineligible for direct stipend payment but are eligible to receive reimbursement up to the total stipend amount of qualified expenses, such as airfare, ground transportation, and meals.

Art on the Block NYC 2026 Residency (New York City)
This five-week residency will take place in a NYC storefront (107 West 86th Street). The artist-in-residence will have the opportunity to transform the space into a studio and public viewing space. Artists should facilitate scheduled programming for youth, families, and adults, including art-making workshops, interviews, and more. There is a $6,000 stipend.

Powerhouse Arts Artist-in-Residence Program (New York City)
This Powerhouse Arts residency program supports emerging to mid-career artists working in print, ceramics, public art, and textiles who have been historically underrepresented in traditional residency programs, specifically Black, Indigenous, artists of color, LGBTQIA+, disabled, and low-income artists. Artists receive access to Powerhouse Arts’ facilities and communal studio space, free materials, professional development opportunities, a $10,000 honorarium, and a $5,000 materials stipend.

The Golden Foundation Residency (International)
The Golden Artist focuses on providing space for artists working with paint. Artists are provided with materials, 24/7 access to an open studio space, a private apartment, and more. Launched in Louisville in 2021, the 21c Artadia Award marked the beginning of a long-term partnership, which annually provides $15,000 in unrestricted funds to one artist living and working in the unique creative communities where 21c Museum Hotels are located. This year’s award is open to artists based in St. Louis.

AXS Film Fund (International)
Each year, the AXS Film Fund awards up to five creators with grants up to $10,000 to assist in completing projects at any stage of production. The program is for creators in documentary filmmaking or nonfiction new media who identify as living with a disability, particularly those from underserved communities. All filmmakers may apply regardless of background.

Vital Impacts Environmental Photography Grant 2025 (International)
Vital Impacts offers one $20,000 grant to an established environmental photographer, along with six $5,000 grants to emerging photographers from around the world. These funds are specifically earmarked for the development of documentary projects focusing on environmental stories.

Craft Research Fund Grant (U.S.)
The Center for Craft awards grants from $5,000 to $15,000 annually to support new and interdisciplinary research.

The Adolf and Esther Gottlieb Emergency Grant (International)
This program provides one-time financial assistance to qualified painters, printmakers, and sculptors whose needs resulted from an unforeseen catastrophic incident and who lack the resources to meet that situation. Awardees typically receive $5,000, up to $15,000.

Adobe Creative Residency Community Fund (Ukraine)
This fund commissions visual artists to create company projects on a rolling basis. Awardees will receive between $500 and $5,000.

Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant (International)
The foundation welcomes applications from painters, sculptors, and artists working on paper, including printmakers. Grants are intended for one year and range up to $50,000. The artist’s circumstances determine the size of the grant, and professional exhibition history will be considered.

Residencies, Fellowships, & More

Peters Valley School of Craft Residency (International)
This program is open to artists working in blacksmithing, ceramics, fibers, jewelry and fine metals, wood, and printmaking. Residents spend two weeks or one month in fully equipped studios, receive a $500 or $1,000 stipend, and are offered housing. There is a $10 application fee.
Deadline: July 1, 2025.

Penland School of Craft (International)
Professional craft artists at pivotal moments in their creative practices or careers are eligible for one-year project residencies or three-year career transition residencies. Housing and studio space are provided.
Deadline: July 2, 2025.

The Jim Henson Foundation Puppetry Residency (U.S./International)
The Jim Henson Foundation and the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center partner for this annual residency, providing space and support to an artist/company working on the final stages of a new work of puppet theater. Residencies are two to three weeks and can support up to 12 participants. Projects must take place in the U.S., and the lead artist must be American, but international applications are welcome. In addition to the residency, artists will receive a $5,000 grant to help cover expenses.

Women’s Studio Workshop Artist’s Book Residency Grant (International)
The Artist’s Book Grant is an eight- to ten-week residency for artists to produce a limited-edition book work. The grant includes a stipend of $350 per week, up to $1,000 for materials, up to $250 for travel within the continental U.S., free onsite housing, and 24/7 studio access.

Polar STEAM Antarctic Artists & Writers Program (International)
This program embeds artists and writers within a science team during deployment in Antarctica or the Southern Ocean for the 2026 to 2027 summer season. Chosen applicants receive a $2,000 stipend.

Ucross Residency (International)
Open to emerging and established visual artists, writers, composers, choreographers, interdisciplinary artists, performance artists, and collaborative teams, this program offers a $1,500 stipend, accommodations, meals, a private work space, and uninterrupted time.

The Kyoto Retreat (International)
Artists, curators, and writers are eligible for this four-week retreat in Kyoto for research, exploration, and inspiration. Chosen applicants receive a round-trip flight, a private bedroom, and $800 to supplement meals and local transportation.

Loghaven Artist Residencies (International)
Located on 90 acres of woodland in Knoxville, Tennessee, Loghaven Artist Residency provides artists with a transformative experience and continued post-residency support. Artists must be at least 21 years old and live more than 120 miles away from Knoxville. There is a $25 application fee.

Leigh Yawkey Woodson Museum Glass Box Residency (International)
This residency provides space and time for artists to experiment, explore, and produce works in any medium. Residents receive housing and an honorarium in addition to reimbursement for travel, mileage, and meal expenses. Supplies and materials for workshops, classes, and outreach will be covered by the Woodson Art Museum. Artists have 24/7 access to the Museum’s Glass Box Studio throughout their residence. There is a $25 application fee.

2026 Grand Canyon Artist in Residence (International)
Hosted at Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona, this program is open to artists who utilize contemporary, interactive, immersive, and/or socially engaged methods and focus on climate resiliency, environmental sciences, natural and cultural histories, and historical interpretation and preservation. Residents receive lodging, a $750 weekly stipend, a $250 travel stipend, and up to $300 for supplies. There is a $25 entry fee.

First Peoples Fund 2026 Cultural Capital Fellowship (U.S.)
This fellowship offers $10,000 grants to artists and culture bearers dedicated to community outreach and cultural preservation through the arts. All applicants must be active within and connected to their Native or Tribal community.
Deadline: 7 p.m. MT on July 16, 2025.

Full Color Printmaking Fellowship (Minnesota)
Selected artists receive a year’s membership to Highpoint Center for Printmaking’s cooperative print shop, free access to classes and workshops, a $500 stipend, mentorship, professional development opportunities, and exhibition opportunities. This fellowship is for Minnesota artists from BIPOC communities.
Deadline: July 30, 2025.

Bemis Center Autumn Residencies (International)
Selected artists-in-residence enjoy generously sized, private live/work studios in Omaha, a $1,250 monthly stipend, and a $750 travel stipend. Due to the limitations of B2 visas (touring/visiting), international artists-in-residence are ineligible for direct stipend payment but are eligible to receive reimbursement up to the total stipend amount of qualified expenses, such as airfare, ground transportation, and meals.

ON::VIEW Artist Residency Program (International)
Located in the heart of Savannah’s Starland District at ARTS Southeast, the ON::VIEW Artist Residency provides a free, high-visibility studio space for an artist to complete a new project, continue an in-progress endeavor, or conduct research exploring conceptual, material, performative, and social practices. There is a $50 application fee.
Deadline: 11:59 p.m. EST on September 21, 2025.

Culinary Artist in Residency at Ox-Bow (International)
This program is open to anyone using food as material for creative practice and takes place in two parts: a 10-day stay in winter and a public program in summer. Residents receive lodging, a $350 travel stipend, a $200 materials budget, and a $1,500 artist fee.
